In the past I’ve gone all out with celebrating…and by “all out” I mean doing a drawing (impressive, right?) but I’m so buried in Kickstarter and everything else, I just haven’t had time. So give you the GREATEST. IMAGE. EVER.

Oh, and an updated hit count: 1,326,656

WOO!!!! Since last year we didn’t quite have 900,000 that means we got nearly 430k in hits over the past 12 months. Which is pretty good, especially since I’ve been so busy with other things. And considering that the hit count for our first year was a paltry 42k.

Thanks to all of you for keeping this blog nice and vibrant. Lots of potentially interesting things in the future…promise! 😉

Remember when it was just 300,000 we were so excited about?

And with that we’re caught up!

I love this Jock cover for Detective #872.  Love everything about it.  Slam dunk.

Playing a little catch up here from while I was away and not picking up or reading my weeklies…

This was a pretty unimpressive cover week for me, as I don’t think this Streets of Gotham #18 by Dustin Nguyen is his best work and it’s still easily the best of what I got this week.

Come by She Has No Head! and read what I thought about J.H. Williams III’s much anticipated Batwoman #0.

Update: Some linkage on Scans_Daily and at DC Women Kicking Ass

This panel from the very first page of Batman Inc. #1, by Yanick Paquette is pretty damn hard to beat…you can see why…

Gotta go with J.H. Williams III’s completely iconic, awe-inspiring, and flat out gorgeous cover to Batman Inc. #1.

It’s also nice that the cover really resonates what is actually inside unlike so many comics today.  The cover heralds not only the return of Bruce Wayne and the ushering in of a new era, but the flags from a variety of nations as his backdrop, really helps clarify what that era will be.  As usual J.H. Williams III is one of the absolute best artists around.  If you love him, go vote for him in Comics Should Be Good’s Top 100 Artists and Writers (but don’t forget about all the awesome lady writers and artists!).

A lot of good stuff to choose from this week, but I had to go with Batman & Robin #15 with art by Frazer Irving, because while I “diggs me some Dick Grayson scooting around in the kevlar pajamas” (to borrow from a hilarious line in Power Girl this week)…there is only one Batman to me…and that’s motherfucking Bruce Wayne:

‘Nuff said?
